ECHO PARK - The Office of Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell wants to alert constituents to street closures and the potential for traffic delays that will impact the district during the next CicLAvia event, which is scheduled to take place this weekend throughout parts of Los Angeles.

The event will take place on Sunday, October 5, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00p.m., and will follow a route that will start in East Los Angeles, cut through downtown LA, and extend into Echo Park and Historic Filipinotown.

The following streets in the 13th District will be closed during CicLAvia:

Glendale Boulevard from Bellevue Avenue to Beverly Boulevard
Bellevue Avenue from Echo Park Avenue to Glendale Boulevard
Beverly Boulevard from Witmer Street to Lucas Avenue
2nd Street from Beverly Boulevard to Alameda Street
Lucas Avenue from Miramar Street to Beverly Boulevard

There are several crossing points throughout the route. Temple Ave and the 101 Freeway will serve as crossing points in the 13th District. [See also: CicLAvia route map]

The Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) is advising vehicular traffic to expect medium-to-long delays on nearby streets. LADOT also wants to remind motorists to be alert to any uniformed officers and event participants such as cyclists and walkers.

Vehicles will not be allowed to enter or exit the route during the event. If your home or business is along the route, you will need to park your vehicle elsewhere. Streets will reopen by approximately 5:30 p.m.

For other street closures during CicLAvia, please visit the LADOT website.
