HISTORIC FILIPINOTOWN - Los Angeles City Councilmember Mitch and his Team Mitch Clean Team were out in the Historic Filipinotown neighborhood this morning, tackling a trash pile nearly a city-block in length.

The clean up crew consisted of O'Farrell's staff, the CD 13 Team Mitch Clean Team, and the LA River Clean Team. The three groups partnered with the LA Bureau of Sanitation to brave the hot temps and clean up a major illegal dumping situation in the Dawson St. alley. The space is adjacent to Beverly Blvd, Glendale Blvd, and Rockwood St.

“Part of me is upset that someone would carelessly dump their trash in our neighborhoods, and lack respect for the people who live there,” said O’Farrell. “The other part of me is proud of my crew who was out there today, and the dozens of other volunteers for Team Mitch who spend their weekends making the great 13th District shine brighter by organizing their own community clean ups.”

Together, Team Mitch spent close to five hours in the alley, using machines and their own hands, to address this urgent neighborhood issue. Good work, Team Mitch!
