We had another great turnout for a beautification event, this one taking place in Rampart Village over the weekend.
More than two dozen volunteers from the community turned out to plant Bird of Paradise and white roses in three rounders on Occidental Blvd between Beverly Blvd and Third Street.
These circular medians that line the boulevard have been a litter magnet and have sat empty, devoid of landscaping, for far too long.
This section of our district has so much potential -- and with just a little bit of love and elbow grease we spruced up the area.
My office partnered with the Department of Recreation and Parks, Rampart Village Neighborhood Council, and community stakeholders to make this flower planting project possible. This was just the first phase - the next phase will take shape in the near future.
