I have heard loud and clear from my constituents that they do not want the Dodgers management to open the Scott Avenue gates in Echo Park. My position has always been to keep the gates closed.
The Dodgers have given me their assurance that the plan to mitigate the quick ingress and egress of traffic from the stadium will work, without negatively impacting the community.
We have agreed that the opening of the Scott Ave gate will be a pilot program, and that the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) will reassess the situation.
In the meantime, LADOT will expedite a Preferential Parking District across the impacted neighborhoods for game days only. We have a commitment from the Dodgers to work with both council offices on this latest development affecting the surrounding neighborhoods.
