LOS ANGELES -- The Department of Recreation and Parks is working with Coca-Cola Troops for Fitness Program and the National Recreation & Park Association (NRPA) to hire military veterans in Los Angeles through a grant designed to offer health and fitness programs to the public, Councilmember Mitch O'Farrell announced this week.
Each veteran hired in District 13 will be used to service District 13 residents through programs at their local park facilities, as well as assist in connecting military veteran's to their resident neighborhoods. Military veterans with experience instructing at the high school, collegiate, and/or professional level will be assigned to one of the following instruction areas:
Any other related physical fitness or nutrition instruction.
Instructors are estimated to work 10 to 15 hours per week and pay rates will vary between $15.00 to $23.00 per hour (depending on level of experience).
