O’FARRELL, LAPD ANNOUNCE REWARD IN FATAL ATTACK OF LOUIE RODRIGUEZ

CITY HALL — City Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell and the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) announced a $50,000 reward motion today to help generate leads in the case involving a fatal attack in Hollywood.

LAPD homicide detectives say Louie Rodriguez, 54, was attacked about 12:40 a.m. on September 21 near Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue while he was riding his motorized scooter after attending the annual Sunset Music Festival in West Hollywood. Detectives say he was punched by a man, fell backward, and hit his head. The motive is unknown.

“This type of brutality should never be tolerated anywhere in the City of Los Angeles,” said O’Farrell during a news conference at City Hall. “We are pleading with anyone with knowledge of this heinous crime to step forward so we can have justice in this case.”

Police are seeking the public’s help with the case and are asking anyone with information  to call  800-222-TIPS.
