CITY HALL - Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell and the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) announced a $50,000 reward for information leading to the identity, arrest, and prosecution of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Carlos Arellano.

According to the LAPD, on August 15, 2014, at approximately 11:25 p.m., Carlos Arellano, a 22 year old male, was walking in the 1500 block of Sunset Blvd with a female companion following a music festival. Arellano became involved in a dispute with a male, Hispanic, approximately 20-23 years old. The verbal dispute escalated into a physical altercation, during which Arellano was stabbed. Arellano later died at a local hospital.

“We know there are witnesses that saw this and we need them to come forward,” said O’Farrell. “When something so brazen occurs in such a public way, we need to focus and make sure this gets the attention it deserves.”
