LOS ANGELES -- More than 100 seniors from the great 13th District joined Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell at Grace E. Simons Lodge in Elysian Park for a resource fair that aimed to provide even greater access to government and other supportive services for those constituents in their golden years.

The event, which was sponsored by O’Farrell and LA Care Health Plan, brought together government agencies and social services to provide attendees with information.

“It had been an important tenet of my administration to bring access to government and services to all constituents of the 13th District, including the young and young at heart,” said O’Farrell. “Today’s event puts that tenet into practice by bringing vital information and resources from organizations that help our seniors to thrive.”

The event also included breakfast and a performance by Senior Star Power, a troop of actors and performers who entertained the crowd and exemplified the fact that seniors can still have some kick in their step.

During the event, O’Farrell shared his appreciation to those organizations who took part in the resource fair, and presented a certificate to LA Care Health Plan for co-sponsoring the event.
