LOS ANGELES -- The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) recently announced that bus and rail riders will soon see a 25 cent fare increase for a one way trip.
Metro will increase fares from $1.50 to $1.75 effective on September 15, according to metro.net. Under the new fare structure, riders using a TAP card are able to transfer to other Metro lines for a two hour period for one-way trips. Transfers are not included for fare paid using cash.
Constituents in the 13th Council District rely heavily on public transportation. The 13th District is home to four Metro subway stops, the most of any council district. [METRO]
