HOLLYWOOD -- Los Angeles City Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell is pleased to announce another transportation alternative for residents and visitors in Hollywood traveling to and from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
FlyAway® bus service to and from the heart of Hollywood will be available to the traveling public starting Wednesday, September 3rd. The pick up and drop off will be located on N. Vine Street, just south of Hollywood Boulevard, conveniently situated across the street from the City of Los Angeles Parking Garage (Lot 702) at 1627 N. Vine Street. on the southeast corner of Hollywood and Argyle, across the street from the W Hotel.
"Shortly after taking office, I met with LAWA to discuss the LAX FlyAway station coming to Hollywood,” said O’Farrell. “I recommended the Hollywood and Vine area as a great location with its proximity to multiple transit options in the heart of Hollywood. I am very excited that LAWA is bringing this service to Hollywood, allowing greater connectivity between our international airport and one of our City’s top tourist destinations."
The FlyAway® bus will operate daily from 5:15 am to 10:15 p.m. from LAX to Hollywood, and from 5:15 am to 9:15 p.m. from Hollywood to LAX. Departures will be 15 minutes past each hour (hourly).
Buses will make one stop (both directions) at the Metro Expo Line station at La Brea before reaching either terminus. This is the first one-stop service of the FlyAway. All other existing FlyAway routes are nonstop: Van Nuys, Union Station, Westwood, Metro Expo station at La Brea, and Santa Monica.
The one-way fare will be $8 and free for children 5 years old and under.
O’Farrell will join Mayor Eric Garcetti for a press event to celebrate the official launch on September 3 in Hollywood.
