GLASSELL PARK - The latest certified farmers’ market to arrive in the 13th District will operate on a new date starting this week, Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell and Sustainable Economic Enterprises of Los Angeles (SEE-LA) announced today.
The Glassell Park Farmers’ Market currently operates in the parking lot of the Goodwill Community Enrichment Center (3150 N. San Fernando Road) and will permanently move to Saturday operations beginning Saturday, August 16.
Every Saturday, rain or shine customers can find the best in locally grown produce and artisanal food from 10am-3pm. Vendor tents run parallel to San Fernando Rd., and parking is plentiful.
“This new farmers market, which my office has been championing since I was elected, brings fresh produce and healthy food to the Drew Estara Neighborhood, all of Glassell Park, and beyond,” O’Farrell during the opening of the market back in May.
The opening of the Goodwill store and the addition of the market have played a key role in reinvigorating the intersection of San Fernando Road and Fletcher Drive. Prior to this current activity, the site had been vacant for nearly a decade.
The Glassell Park Farmers’ Market is produced by SEE-LA, operator of eight certified Farmers’ Markets in the City of Los Angeles.
